Theme:
Culture is the fineness of feelings, thought, tastes, manners,
customs, arts, music, ethnic language and architecture. Kansas
City has many ethnic and social cultures living within its borders.
Each group “carries” within itself customs, symbols and images of its
own uniqueness and distinction from that of other groups. At the
same time, each group operates within a larger framework of
neighborhood, district or economic region. Borders typically
separate and divide rather than include. The theme of this
exhibition is to produce a work based on the idea of
Cultures Without Borders. Our intent is to challenge
individuals to focus on their unique similarities and rich diversities.
Works submitted should express an interpretation of your culture.
